We exist to give every student a pathway into tech.

We noticed that the education sector has a lot to learn.

Even today, universities are lagging behind and failing to teach the essential technical skills that developers need in the workplace. At the same time, we know that not everyone wants to go to university. We know that private colleges can be prohibitively expensive. And we know that some young Australians would rather actively contribute than passively learn.

That’s why the Institute of Tech Apprentices was established, to provide a fast-track pathway into technology for all young Australians.

Who we are

The Institute of Tech Apprentices exists to give every young Australian a pathway to a tech career. We seek to close the gap between formal education and the actual needs of real workplaces, while creating new opportunities for groups that are underrepresented in tech, such as women and minorities.

Our Tech Apprenticeship program fast-tracks high school graduates into their tech careers. Every Tech Apprentice earns a full-time income working on real software projects under the guidance of a Mentor, while undertaking skills and tech training. The program is designed so that every Apprentice can graduate straight into a role as a Junior Developer. By creating these new pathways, we’re on a mission to change the face of education and create the next generation of tech leaders.
